The Fresh Stuff

Lwbf   -

“So don’t you see that we don’t owe this old do-it-yourself life one red cent? There’s nothing in it for us, nothing at all. The best thing to do is give it a decent burial and get on with your new life. God’s Spirit beckons. There are things to do and places to go.” Romans 8:12 -14 MSG

I am into fresh coffee because it makes it taste way better, fresh bread because it’s way softer, fresh clothes because they smell good, fresh air because it’s crisp and clean, fresh sheets because they feel good, fresh maple bars from DK Donuts because they taste so good!

Some of this stuff turns over daily, like fresh bread at the local market. In fact on the package it says, “Baked fresh at 4:00PM daily”. Other things are serviced every few days or weeks. The milk in my refrigerator has expiration dates that indicates when “fresh” is over and “old” has begun.

The enemy of fresh is old. There is no such thing as “Old Holy Spirit”. That’s why we can say yes to the Holy Spirit every day, because he is serving up the fresh stuff that you need daily in order to live out God’s purposes. In fact, he has an infinite supply of what you need every day for the changes and challenges you face.

What are some fresh items available from the Holy Spirit?  Fresh leadership from Jesus, fresh advice, fresh truth, fresh forgiveness, fresh grace, fresh forgiveness, fresh thinking, and fresh encouragement.

The Holy Spirit is not only saying “Don’t fight me.” The Holy Spirit is asking you to double-check under the tree one more time. It’s time for fresh. Your job is simple. If you have Jesus, you have the Holy Spirit. Ask him to fill you and accept by faith all that he has for you.

Thank you Father for not withholding one thing from me, you love me perfectly.
